As the odds of receiving a call back from your voicemail message are already low, you need to be very specific about what you say in your voicemail to give you the greatest chance of getting a call back. What you absolutely do NOT want to do is make yourself sound like a salesperson making a cold call. Instead, you want to sound like a very confident business colleague who deserves the respect of getting a call back.

Ah, the humble phone message. Thanks to texting, voice mail is becoming less common. But until it disappears altogether, it’s to your advantage to know how to leave clear messages. In fact, a phone message is sort of like a thank you note: You can earn big respect by leaving a good one… and lose points if your message is annoying or rude.
Visit the prospect’s website and investigate their solutions. Use tools and technology that collect more information about the prospect, such as their social profiles, their past experience, their connections, and so on.
"The phone number early in the conversation is key," advises John Crossman, CEO of real estate firm Crossman & Company. "If it is a long message with a phone number at the end, I may not even listen to it."
If you want your prospects to get back to you, you better sound exciting. If you have a monotone voice, you’re almost certainly not going to get a response.
