Have you noticed how I slowed down towards the end of the message? I spoke slower and clearer. This is because when the person on the other line hears your message, they will be writing down your details before calling you back. Let’s make it easy for them to call you back!
But every once in a while, you get a really special voicemail. Maybe your partner called you early in the morning, knowing you were asleep, to leave a Happy Birthday recording for when you awoke. Or maybe a beloved family member recently passed away, and you have a voicemail from them that might’ve seemed pretty pointless at the time but now carries extra significance.
Now, this might seem like I'm reneging on what I just said, but you can easily reconcile this point with the one above. While you should keep your tone conversational, you can't get carried away.

You can set up stutter dial tone through your account portal. With this feature on, you will have a stutter dial tone, instead of a normal dial tone, if you have a new voicemail.

Your voicemail box can hold a total of 30 messages. New messages are kept for 14 to 30 days, depending on the type of voicemail. If you don’t save them during that time, they are automatically deleted. Saved messages are kept for 30 days, and if you don’t delete them during that time, they are automatically deleted.

This is a tactic we picked up from Jeff Hoffman and it works because it makes you more memorable and makes your messages seem genuine and less rehearsed. Give it a try and see if it will work for you too!
