Be brief. Don’t make your listener resent you for leaving a 5 minute long message. People are busy. Listening to 5 minute phone messages is not on the top of their priorities and wastes their time. 9. “Hey, it’s [your name] at [your company] – thanks for giving me a call! I can’t wait to chat. Just leave your name, number and I’ll call you back as soon as I have the chance. Better yet, send me a text with the best time to reach you and the reason for your call. Looking forward to hearing from you.” Text communication is becoming much more relevant now. Your voicemail greeting is the message your callers hear when they reach your voicemail. There are two types of voicemail greetings - Busy and No Answer. The Busy greeting is played when you are on another call and do not have call waiting, and the No Answer greeting is played when you do not answer the call.
A voicemail greeting is a greeting that you record on your phone. This is played when you are not able to answer your phone. The person who calls you will hear the greeting and then leave a message.
And that's the reason that most people leave garbled and rushed messages, because they take about two seconds to adjust to the fact that they've got through to an answering service and then with Mary Mitchell's message they have maybe a second or two to compose a short and concise message... which just isn't enough time for most people.
