You don't necessarily need to say “Goodbye” at the end of a voice mail, because you didn't really talk to anyone. Instead, try something like, “Look forward to talking* with you!” How do I make a personal voicemail greeting? Start with a polite “Hello”. Inform the caller of who you are, and apologize for missing the call. End your script by asking the caller to leave a name and contact number with a brief message. But do repeat your telephone number at the end of the message at least once and speak very s-l-o-w-l-y so the person can write it down as they listen. If you don't get a response to your first voicemail, don't hesitate to record a similar message once a week for two or three weeks. This sounds a bit excessive, but my experience has been that if there is even the slightest chance of meeting someone now or even in the near future, this kind of message will get their attention.
You will need to access the voicemail menu of your recipient for deleting or re-recording your voicemail. Try pressing * or # on the dial pad to access the menu. This works for both mobile phones and landlines unless the recipient has changed the options.

If you don’t have access to your online account, you can dial in to your voicemail by pressing and holding the ‘1’ key on your phone’s keypad. After your phone connects to the voicemail system, you can access your password settings by pressing ‘*’, followed by the 5 key.
Your phone number is the last thing you should say on a voicemail. Say it once, slowly, and make sure to repeat it again. See how this voicemail is straightforward, clear and concise? This might be a good script to start with if you’re new to making calls to leads. Always talk in a friendly voice and come from a place of caring (they’ll feel it on the other end of the line). After you’ve used the script for awhile, you’ll learn how leads are reacting to the voicemail and you can rescript it if necessary. Keep in mind, you will be calling the lead MANY times so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try different scripts.
