Hi, you’ve reached (name)’s answering machine. He/she is not in right now, but I’m totally open for suggestions.
Most phones don’t make that as easy as it ought to be. Apple’s iPhone will back up voicemails to your computer along with everything else, but they’re stored in a funky file format that’s not easily played by most software. Most Android phones, meanwhile, store your voicemails on off-site servers.
When you hear the Dial Tone, call into your landline or office voicemail box. The rule of thumb is when you hear the Voicemails Forever dial tone, then follow your phone's instructions to listen to your voicemails remotely. This will vary from carrier to carrier and phone to phone. You may need to call your phone networks customer support for updated instructions.
With a voicemail, though, you (should) know exactly who you’re calling – their name, their company’s name, how many employees they have, etc. Your message can be hyper-customized to that one person you’re calling. When you make that message just for them, they’ll feel more of a responsibility to return your call.
This call may be recorded or monitored for quality and training purposes. If you don’t wish this call to be monitored or recorded, then please let the answering machine know when you leave your message.
