That’s right. An out-of-office response is an automated email message that will be sent back to anyone who shoots you an email while you’re on leave. They are important. I have always said that I’m taking annual leave so that still applies for me – but that’s pretty standard for my company.

Which to my mind lets people know when I’m back and that I will get back to them after that date, as well as who to contact for more urgent stuff. But every time, Wakeen gets teapot questions because people apparently can’t be bothered to finish reading and they both get questions on stuff that is not due for weeks after I return.
A ‘Type A’ who can’t ever fully switch-off from work… at least they’re honest about it!
