I mean, I think we all know the breadth and depth at which one can express themselves via emojis. But an out of office that only uses emojis? Brilliant. If you create your own Out of Office emoji reply, I BEG you to post it in the comment section below.

Out of office (OOO), messages can be an incredible tool to fuel your success. A good away message allows you to tell your customers that youâre away and encourages them to move within the sales funnel with more ease. Using automated messages during holidays or conferences can create social connections with recipients.
Out of Office replies can be turned on very easily and even timed to expire at a designated time. But did you know you can customize your OOF so that some people do not get the auto reply, or that they get a customized reply different than the rest of the group? The steps below will show you how.
But that sounds boring, right? Luckily, there are ways to spice up your OOO message by adding humor in just the right places.
Maternity leave is a time when the extended time is taken off of work for the birth of a child. This can leave quite a loss at an organization where the fulfillment of an expected role is being fulfilled. Leaving a maternity leave out of office message will forward on the expected contact for your job while you are gone. This will ensure you have less pile up of paperwork when you return while the business has an ability to continue onward. Here is a look at some great samples that will get your auto responder set up.
I just say âfollowing my return to the officeâ because saying âas soon as possibleâ isnât actually when Iâm going to respond â I may have other priorities when I get back that take precedence over responding to a week old email that wasnât important enough for them to contact my backup. That said, it doesnât bother me when other people do it!

I used to work with someone who had a message telling people she only checked her email twice a day. You pretty much needed to call her if you needed anything outside of those times. (She worked in a remote office.) I think she had read one of those books on efficiency that recommended scheduled email time. But there were problems with this: 4. My department often had to email attachments or text to illustrate our questions/concerns. And we were on deadlines. Reading a page of text over the phone was not an efficient use of anyoneâs time 5. She did outreach & was often out of the office on site visits, trainings, or travel to these places, but never ever set her OOO for these, because she was âworking.â However, she was effectively not available to read emails from other staff until after hours on those days.

I do feel like the person who wrote it may have some issues in their organization with, oh letâs call it fire fighting. People who donât necessarily think through the process of who would be most effective at dealing with the problem at hand. This reads like the message of someone who is used to getting everything dumped in their email and this OOO is an attempt to manage expectations and distribute issues to the people most able to quickly and effectively deal with a range of problems
