Even though I provide those partners with an alternate email to send their requests, it’s still my responsibility to make sure that the requests that were sent to me in my absence were handled. This might seem obvious, but make sure you clearly state and restate the dates you’ll be out of the office. State exactly when you’ll be back, and whether or not you’ll be responding to calls and emails while you’re out.
