“I will be away on a vacation from June 3 to June 14. For urgent queries, you can call [person] at [phone number].”
If you have the opportunity to come, let me know — I’d love the chance to connect with you.
Perhaps I’m you guys’ worst nightmare, but for the past couple of years I’ve been writing haikus for my OOO, which give a flavour of what I’m out doing. A couple of examples:
But, what exactly should you say in that automated message of yours? I used to have this on my personal voice mail, back when voice mail was used often since internet was over phone lines. I stopped using it because it confused too many callers. The email I send out always says something along the lines of “I’ll be away Thursday and Friday, so if you need anything from me, please let me know before noon on Wednesday. Thanks!”
> When I get an answer from someone who reads his e-mails on vacation I’m pleasantly surprised.
