You can set up your Auto Attendant to greet callers with a message before forwarding the call to a number outside of your 8x8 system. Log in to 8x8 Admin Console. Click Auto Attendants. Click Edit (pencil icon) to the right of the Auto Attendant you wish to edit. Click Edit Settings. Adjust the number of seconds the system should wait before taking the next action. If desired, set the toggle to allow users to Dial an Extension at any Point during the recording. Set the If user inputs no key, replay menu option to 0. This means that the call will directly route to your external number. Set the And Then action to Route To. Click the drop-down box and type the external phone number. Click Save in the Settings window. Save your Auto Attendant profile. I still will get urgent messages from coworkers with multiple follow-ups during my OOO period. Then an angry call or email when I return that the response time was too long. When I check with Jane about the status she says she was never contacted about the issue. I always push back “Why didn’t you contact Jane?” but I think a lot of people in my organization like to shift blame when they are behind on their deadlines. If it was really so urgent, why did you wait a week just to get an answer from me?
I am on annual leave until dd/mm/yyyy. I will allow each sender one email and if you send me multiple emails, I will randomly delete your emails until there is only one remaining. Choose wisely. Please note that you have already sent me one email.
I think that’s maybe something you need to deal with internally with the person/people who you’re asking people to speak to instead – I think if you start to ask the original sender to update you or cc you then it’s going to start to annoy people that they are doing the running around, plus not everyone will do it.
