She’s not sure how long that author would’ve argued with her computer until she turned it off.
That’s my practice, too, though I only use it for times I’ll be out for a day or more. Some of the work I do and support can be very time sensitive and it’s really the most efficient use of *everyone’s* time if I spend two minutes before I leave setting up OOO so that they are quickly directed to the right person instead of having to go check my calendar, see I’m out for a week, try to remember who it is that’s my backup, etc.

Your out of office message can link to testimonials from your happy clients. For those of us in travel, you could try something like:
Yes, this, and when people use OOO message as a “do not disturb” but then email you back right away. That’s not how OOO or email works!
If you need assistance, contact our Reception." In AmE, if official/national holiday(s): "I will be away for the holiday(s) etc." If vacation, "I will be on vacation etc." Where is the automatic reply in Outlook?
Education Details: Here's an example (and here are 7 more out-of-office templates, too!) Hi there, I am OOO on PTO from Friday, December 1 - Tuesday, December 10 without access to email or voicemail. If this is urgent, please contact [NAME], otherwise I will respond to messages when I return.
Hello, Thanks for reaching out to me. Unfortunately, I’m out of the office from [DATE] to [DATE] with limited / no access to email. If your query can wait, I’ll be responding to the emails I missed when I return on [DATE]. If not, contact [NAME] at [EMAIL] or [PHONE] and he/she will take care of you.
There is no vacation responder on iOS to auto-reply text on the iPhone. However, there is a workaround for the iPhone auto-reply while you are on vacation. We are going to use the DND mode feature to auto-reply to incoming text messages while you are on vacation. This will work perfectly while you want to set auto-reply text on your iPhone to reply to calls and messages automatically while you are on vacation. iPhone Settings Scroll down for Do Not Disturb Tap on Auto-Reply Fill out the vacation text message you want. Select the recipient list to All Contacts.
Under “General,” scroll down to the “Vacation responder” section. Fill in your message and subject line and select the dates you’d like it to appear, then select “Vacation responder on” and then “Save Changes” to finish.
If you’re not sure when you’ll return, don’t include dates. Simply direct them to a colleague.
iOS is offering a feature to set an autoreply for all incoming calls. Instead of merely rejecting the calls, you can send back pre-set messages while you reject it. You have an option to set three quick response message to send back while rejecting the incoming calls.
I actually hate that feature – I LOVE manually updating it myself but I know most of my coworkers benefit from having it that way.
I’ll be out of the office from 07.07. until 16.07.2020 with no access to my mailbox. Please contact (COLLEAGUE NAME), [email protected].
