No need to practice time and time again — simply plug in your name, company title, and other details, then read it out loud to your phone’s voicemail greeting recorder. Some of the Quickstart code wasn’t necessary for our IoT Podcast voicemail. The first section of code highlighted in the above image, for example, is used to identify callers for a customized greeting, but only if you know the caller’s number in advance. So I removed that. Additionally, there’s a section of code that reads aloud text for the voicemail greeting. We decided to record our own MP3 file for the greeting, so I modified that line as well. You can tweak the sample code however you’d like if you decide to create a similar project.
Business professionals are also encouraged to keep their voicemail organized. Delete any messages from the office phone that are no longer necessary after calls are returned, and write down any phone numbers that are needed at the time the message is listened to. If modern voicemail service is utilized, such as that supplied by Voicemail Office, in which voicemail and fax messages are received in a staff member’s email inbox, the individual should write a short explanation in the body of the email if forwarding any voicemail messages to other staff members.
