Enter a name for the new greeting and then tap Save. Change your greeting. To use a different greeting that you've already recorded or switch back to the default greeting: On your Android device, open the Google Voice app . At the top left, tap Menu Settings. In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting.

Verizon only: Unfortunately, if you have set up the voicemail successfully but still unable to change the greetings of Voicemail from the Voicemail tab, then dial *86 and select option 4 to make a change. Step #1: Launch the “Phone” app on your iPhone. Step #2: Tap “Voicemail”. Step #3: Select “Greeting” on the upper-left corner of the screen. This is an Apple bug that has been there for YEARS, and they STILL refuse to address it!!!

turning off wi-fi didn't do it... So I deleted voicemails, then I cleared all. I still could not record a new greeting, so I turned the phone off, then on again, and that worked--I still had wi-fi on.
