Along with having my greeting screen frozen I was also not receiving any indication that a call was coming in...no ring, no vibrate, no visual indication on the phone at all. All calls were going directly to voicemail and the greeting was some funky message...maybe it was the default although custom was checkmarked. I also tried resetting, turning off WiFi, checking Do Not Disturb. 4 hours agoVoicemail is an audio or voice message that’s recorded when you’re busy with another call or when a phone call goes unanswered, for you to listen to later. It’s different from the age old answering machines in that instead of storing the message on the device, it stores it in a mailbox on your service provider’s server, the same way an email message is stored.

Take note of the green number below “Voicemail number“. Go back to the dialer and enter the number from Step 6 (including the *). Press the green phone button. The voicemail number has been set. Return to the Start screen.
It's in the upper right corner of the screen. Now, if you are prompted to type in your password when you are checking voicemail, you should enter the password you just set. When checking voicemail from your iPhone, usually you don't have to type in the password again because your iPhone has automatically sent the password to your carrier already.
To use a different greeting that you already recorded or switch back to the default greeting:
