At this point, we can’t be exactly sure why your iPhone won’t play voicemails. The voicemail you play in the Phone app on your iPhone is called Visual Voicemail, which downloads your voicemails from your carrier in the form of little audio files, similar to the music files you listen to inside the Music app.

2. Press the Star or Pound Key. Depending on your carrier, you will likely push one of these two keys next. It's more common to push the star key. When you hear your voicemail start, that's when you should press either the star (*) or the pound (#) key. For AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile, press the star (*) key. Verizon, Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile users should press the pound (#) key. If you are using a different carrier, you can check its website or call customer service to be sure.
Call your home phone number. Depending on your location, you can press #, * or 2 to interrupt the greeting, and then enter your PIN. Follow the prompts to listen to your messages.

If you don't record a new greeting, callers hear the default greeting. To record a new greeting: Open the Google Voice app . At the top left, tap Menu Settings. In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting. Tap Record a greeting. Tap Record . Record your greeting and when you’re done, tap Stop . Choose what you want to do with the recording:
I am sorry for the delay in response, best bet would be to contact us by dialing 611 from your US Mobile number, or by initiating chat with us from bottom right of this page so we can try and resolve this in a live environment. I’m trying to set up my voicemail box, but when I get to the menu the only options are to access an existing mailbox (I tried putting my number in under that option, but it says it’s invalid) or to leave a message for another number. Go to menu, and click on messages. At the bottom of the screen, it should say options. Click on options. You should see a list of options come up on the screen. Click on the one that says voicemail. When you click on voicemail, it should call the automated voicemail. You should hear an automated voice giving you options. When you hear personal options, press the number that the automated voice said was for personal options. The automated voice should then list some personal options. When you hear `greetings,` press the number that the automated voice said was for greetings. The automated voice should list some greetings. When you hear `personal greetings,` press the number that the voice said was for personal greetings. Follow the automated directions from there.
To set up your voicemail, press *98 from your home phone or call the retrieval number you received with your welcome letter. Voice prompts will guide you through the rest of the steps.
