Thanks so much for your help. Closing it down did the trick on my Iphone. This has happened before and I don’t know what I did to correct it, but this was sooooo…. easy.
So as you could see on top is buffering. So I got to wait a minute and then once that's done, I'm going to press custom here. So now when it says to set your outgoing message, I'm going to choose custom here and I could basically press record. I don't have one yet. So if I did, it would allow me to play it and listen to it.

Tap on the Google Fi app on your device’s home screen. Tap on the Account tab. Under Phone settings, tap on Voicemail. Tap on Manage greeting. Tap on the Microphone button to record a new voicemail message, or skip ahead to step 8. Tap on Keep to save the new message, or on Redo to try another one.
Log in to your Intermedia Unite Mobile Application > My account > Voicemail > Greeting. Here you can Record custom greeting, Replace custom greeting, or change it back to Default greeting.
There are two steps you have to do before you can use voicemail on your phone. The first is that you have to add a voicemail number. This number varies by country and also your service provider. Take note of the green number below “Voicemail number“. Go back to the dialer and enter the number from Step 6 (including the *). Press the green phone button. The voicemail number has been set. Turn your phone off for 10 seconds and then back on. Place a test call to 611. Do one of the following: If the test call is successful, press and hold 1 to dial into the voicemail system. If your test call fails, confirm you have wireless coverage. If Visual Voicemail won't download, press and hold 1 to check your messages.

4. Enter your voicemail password. If you have set a password lock for your voicemail account, you will be prompted to key it in. Use the dial pad to do so.
