Note: a desk phones' voicemail greeting can only be recorded via phone, there is no way to upload or download a greeting through the online panel.

1. Call your number. It's that simple. Use any landline or cell phone to dial your mobile or landline number. Dial the full number. Make sure someone doesn't actually answer the phone you are calling when it rings, though. Make sure you dial the area code with the number.
An extended absence greeting lets you record an alternate greeting without deleting your standard or personal greeting. It can be used as an after-hours message or for special instructions. Go to the Phone app, then tap the Voicemail tab.Tap Set Up Now.Enter your password,* then tap done.Record a custom greeting or use the default greeting, then tap Save.
Once this screen has appeared all of your old voice mails will display. Tap Greeting in the top left.
3. Select “Settings,” then find and select the call-forwarding or forwarding settings option. Possibly found under “More Settings,” or “Advanced.”

Tried all of these suggestions. Still can't get voicemail to record greeting. Says it is on custom greeting, won't allow me to play. Won't allow me to switch to default. Suggestions? To change or record your voicemail greeting: From your: Wireless phone: Press and hold 1 or the Voicemail key. AT&T Wireless Home Phone: Dial 1 from your connected home phone. Enter your voicemail password if prompted. In the Main Menu, press 4 for Personal Options. Press 3 to Change Greetings.
