Tap on the Google Fi app on your device’s home screen. Tap on the Account tab. Under Phone settings, tap on Voicemail. Tap on Manage greeting. Tap on the Microphone button to record a new voicemail message, or skip ahead to step 8. Tap on Keep to save the new message, or on Redo to try another one.
To use a different greeting that you already recorded or switch back to the default greeting:

Step 7: Touch the Play button to hear the recording. If you are happy with it, you can touch the Save button at the top-right of the screen. Otherwise you can hit the Record button to record a new message.
If you don't record a new greeting, callers hear the default greeting. To record a new greeting: Open the Google Voice app . At the top left, tap Menu Settings. In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting. Tap Record a greeting. Tap Record . Record your greeting and when you’re done, tap Stop . Choose what you want to do with the recording:
7. Edit your voicemail greeting. Now, press the dial pad key for changing or recording your voicemail greeting. It's 1 in this case.
So make sure you connect with them to make sure you have it. If you don't see that play on the record and that way you'll just have to basically record and use a different device to call them yourself, to hear your voicemail. I hope you found this useful. Tried all of these suggestions. Still can't get voicemail to record greeting. Says it is on custom greeting, won't allow me to play. Won't allow me to switch to default. Suggestions?
