No you can’t. I just called and asked for it to be turned off completely and was told it is impossible. It’s aggravating to get conflicting information. Obviously either the CS Team member who wrote the previous post, or the employee I just spoke to on the phone, doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
But now I'm going to go ahead and record. So press record sorry I missed your call. Please leave your voicemail after the beep and I'll call you back. Thank you. Press stop and now. I could press play and then if I don't like what I hear, I could press record one more time and when I'm satisfied, I could press save on the top right and it's going to save my greeting and that's all I have to do to set a new voicemail on my iPhone. You could always come back to this page. Press record one more time and replace your voicemail here. You're greeting here, and you should always use someone else's phone to call to see how it sounds from a different device.

You were courteous and called me to work on it when that became more efficient than our emailing. Very good service.
That’s it. You have deleted the old Voicemail greeting on your Android device and stored the new one. Congratulations!
The problem could be a result of a virus or software bug on your phone. Before resetting your phone back to its factory settings, back up all of the information stored on it to another device, so that you can put it back onto your phone after the reset.
