When I record my new voice message I do not have the stop option button and it keeps the existing voice message!! I have an iphone5 and I need to change my voicemail message!! Please help

When I go to voicemail it just disconnects me. I have tried dialing 1 and also the number 805-637-7243.
Note: T-Mobile users, tap on "Keypad" or press 123. Verizon users, press *86 instead of 1. And Sprint users, press 1. And then you can change the default voicemail on iPhone from different carriers.

The default voicemail greeting on the iPhone plays generic Your call has been forward to an automated voice message system recording. If you use your phone for work, create a personalized greeting that tells people you're a professional. If your phone is for personal use, create a personalized greeting so people hear your voice and know they called the right number.

4. Call Your Carrier Voicemail Inbox. All cell networks have a voicemail number that you can manually call to access your voicemail inbox. Calling your voicemail number manually can help you determine if your inbox is active and working correctly.
3 - Give your audio file a nickname, tag (optional) and select “Mailbox Greeting” from the Type drop down.
Dial your mobile, wait for it to go to answer phone and hit the star key, a prompt will ask you to enter your pin code that you set up previously, followed by the hash (#) key. So if you have no credit to access voicemail to set up a pin your kinda stumped.
6. Return to the dialer and enter the number from Step 6 (along with the *) once more.
