I want to use a downloaded custom MP3 file as my custom greeting. Is there a way to transfer it into the file or do I have to just re-record it by hitting record while the MP3 file plays off of another device?
That’s it. You have deleted the old Voicemail greeting on your Android device and stored the new one. Congratulations!

Thank you so much! I have Metro PCS and an Iphone 5S. I called my carrier and reset my VPN and now I can retrieve my voicemail. Yippie!!!!!
Each carrier has a different method for setting up voicemail, and we’ve provided a brief description of how to do it (and where to find instructions) where applicable below.
I cannot get the visual voicemail to play so I can hear it. It is very, very low where you cannot make it out. I have my volume up all the way. I have the iPhone X cream.

Step 4. Begin recording your custom voicemail message by tapping “Record.” You can also listen to your recording by tapping “stop” and “play” before proceeding to the next step.
6. Alternatively, from the list of messages, press and hold the voicemail then select “Delete,” then confirm the deletion.

You'll notice that many of these are targeted, but cover things that can easily annoy users. Slow keyboard response in Quick Reply is one of our frustrations with iOS 9.1 that this fixes. Other upgrades fix alarm bugs, iCloud backup problems and much more.
To use a different greeting that you already recorded or switch back to the default greeting:
1. Select the fixed key with the envelope graphic, or dial the phone’s phone number.
I have the same problem. I’ve also worked with the support line (via the chat option), and have been unsuccessful at getting it set up or enabled. “The voicemail box number is invalid…”, yet, if I call my number, I can leave a voicemail, but have no way to go in and retrieve it.
In the Voicemail section, tap Voicemail greeting. Tap Record a greeting. Tap Record . Record your greeting and when you’re done, tap Stop . Choose what you want to do with the recording: To listen to the recording, tap Play . To replace the recording, tap Redo. To save the recording, tap Save. Enter a name for the new greeting and tap Save.

Thanks for the explanation. It does indeed sound like there’s no convenient solution till your whole system gets revamped. To briefly explain *why* I don’t want your voicemail enabled: I use my USMobile number as a forwarding line for Google Voice. Google Voice’s voicemail is frankly superior to yours so I want to use it exclusively. When your voicemail kicks in it interferes with Google Voice’s operation, causing me frustration and a real mess. I’ll give some thought to whether I want to be bothered with going through a quarterly exercise of calling and re-disabling your voicemail.
