Visual Voicemail won't let me play back or adjust greeting. I have a new iPhone SE running iOS 9.3.1, restored from a backup of my old iPhone 4S. Also I have changed carriers upon getting the new phone to Cricket from AT&T. When I set up the new iPhone, it installed carrier updates from iTunes and the Phone app let me set up my visual voicemail
Thanks so much for your help. Closing it down did the trick on my Iphone. This has happened before and I don’t know what I did to correct it, but this was sooooo…. easy.

That way you'll get to know exactly what other people hear when they call your phone and one last thing I wanted to show you. If you don't see that play on record option on the bottom, you don't have visual voicemail. Set up on your phone and that's through your provider. So if you have at and T sprint T-Mobile or any other provider, you need to have visual voicemail.
You can also click View more in Outlook to open the Voicemail folder for more info. Listen to your voicemail at a different speed

I had installed WhoApp yesterday to see how I might like it, and decided to uninstall it. WhoApp uses its own VoiceMail, so when I uninstalled it and couldn't change my greeting, I was ready to blame WhoApp! Thankfully, this thread gave me the correct solution. I just deleted all of my old voicemail messages and everything works now!

Your AT&T VoiceMail Service access number is: 1-888-288-8893. When calling from home, if prompted, enter your password followed by #. If you are not calling from home, you will be prompted to enter your 10-digit telephone number followed by your password, then just follow the system prompts. From any Home screen, tap Phone. Touch and hold 1 or dial 123 and tap Call, or tap the Voicemail icon to call voicemail.

Select "custom" and tap on "Record" in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Tap on "Stop" when you finish recording. Select "Play" to play back the message. If you are satisfied with your new message, select "Save" in the upper-right corner.
Tap on the Google Fi app on your device’s home screen. Tap on the Account tab. Under Phone settings, tap on Voicemail. Tap on Manage greeting. Tap on the Microphone button to record a new voicemail message, or skip ahead to step 8. Tap on Keep to save the new message, or on Redo to try another one.
An extended absence greeting lets you record an alternate greeting without deleting your standard or personal greeting. It can be used as an after-hours message or for special instructions. It's in the upper right corner of the screen. Then you have to re-enter the new password. Please be careful, you need to enter it exactly as you did the first time. Or else, you have to reset the password.
